热情的打招呼
没有人会对微笑sayno，不管是认识的同事、同学、朋友，还是初见的陌生面孔，热情地打招呼是开启谈话的第一步。
-Hi, Jenny, it's good to see you.认识的人
-Hi,my name is Sara, what's your name?第一次见的人。在对方回答后，重复一遍对方的名字会留下更好的印象哦。
寻找话题
1. 赞美
没有人不喜欢赞美，一句真诚简单的赞美既可以打破尴尬，又可以让对方开心，一举两得。
- I like your shoes, where did you get them?
- Your hair always looks great, what hair products do you use?
如果只是擦肩而过，赞美就好。如果真的要需要停下来聊天，赞美以后抛出问题，人们总是乐于谈论自己。
2. 天气
天气这个话题最无聊却又最保险，但巧妙地从天气延伸到别的话题，会让你们的谈话更丰富。
- It's getting warm, any plans for the weekend?
- It's snowing all day. What do you usually do on snowy days? I feel so bored.
3. 食物
食物是人类永恒的话题，无论是共同的探讨，还是单方面的分享，都可以提供很多谈话素材。
在party上认识的新朋友
-this cocktail is really fancy, what's in it?
然后就可以你一言我一语地认真讨论了，中间再夹杂着讨论一下各自最爱的cocktail以及做法，甚至聊一聊自己的醉酒经历，适当地爆一下自己的糗事可以迅速拉近距离。
4. 在朋友家做客
the food is so yummy, can you give me the recipe?
这样既赞美了对方，又提供了后续的话题。
5. 娱乐
无论是电视节目、体育赛事、音乐演出，还是各种主题公园、户外活动，都可以成为很好的谈话素材。在不太了解对方的情况下，谈论那些火遍全球的项目就最保险了。
- Did you watch the Game of Thrones? The red wedding is so horrible!
- Did you watch the Oscars last week? I can’t believe Leonardo DiCaprio finally won one!

6. 工作
工作的间隙也需要一些small talk与同事联络感情，你可以这样说：

7. 寻求建议
当你实在不知道说什么时，寻求建议是最好的选择。将话题抛给对方，你只需时不时给一些积极的回应就好。
- Hey, I am thinking about adopting a dog, do you know where I can find one?
- Hey, I am new here, can you recommend some good restaurants nearby?
Hey Tom, you know a lot about painting, right? Where should I start if I want to learn oilpainting?
结束谈话
就跟小时候写作文要总-分-总一样，在结束谈话时提一下谈话中的主题，也会让整个谈话更圆满，同时也为下次的谈话做了铺垫。
- It's been great talking to you. I'll let you know how that recipe works out for me.
- I'd love to talk more about painting, but I have a meeting in 5 minutes. I am sure I'll see you soon, though.
