     Base4 is a very powerful framework and server for sharing data layers and data between applications. Essentially Base4 works by generating data and code from an XML schema that defines business objects. The server then hosts this code and exposes it to one or many applications trying to access data. Client applications talk to the server by using the Maxtiviti.Storage.dll’, which provides an encapsulated communication layer that uses .Net Remoting to talk to the Base4 Server.
