Managing Enterprise Content by using Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Server 2007

What is an information policy?

1. A policy is a set of rules for specified types of contents.

2. Policy can control access to content, determine retentioin period for content, and evaluate effective application of policy among users.

3. MOSS offer predefined policy, and user can customize byself.

4. Administrator can manage and set the rules for a content type from a single location, since policy is bound to the content.

5. A policy can be assigned to a content type, list and document library.

6. A policy is one to many with policy feature and policy feature also one to many policy resource. In my thought, a policy means do things, and policy feature will be responsible for one of things, and the thing consists of many actions, so policy reourse equals an action.
