In-memory computing refers to the process of executing computational tasks by storing input and output data in a computer’s volatile (RAM) or non-volatile memory rather than on slower external storage devices such as hard disks or solid state drives (SSD). This approach can significantly improve performance for certain applications where large amounts of data need to be processed quickly without frequent access to slow storage media.
