admit通常表示“迫于压力”而不得不承认。

eg. i am shamed of admiting what i have done.

acknowledge通常是“公开承认”

eg. Seeing this, she has to acknowledge  mistakes she  has made.

confess通常表示“承认某种罪行”。

eg. He confessed that he killed his wife.
