闪烁的近义词，傻傻分不清？

我学英语的时候喜欢总结近义词，虽然是难点，但是在辨析各种含义和用法的细微差别的过程中又有无限乐趣。我发现汉语比较倾向用修饰性的词去描述一个动作或一个名词，而英语更倾向用专门的词来表述一个专门的概念。比如“说”这个动作，英语中有很多不同的词，例如twitter, stutter, splutter等，分别表示“叽叽喳喳地说”“结结巴巴地说”以及“语无伦次地说”。

下面就和大家分享一组我非常喜欢、也很容易混淆的近义词，“闪烁”——sparkle, glitter, gleam, glint, glisten, glow——相信这些词大家都不陌生，但是用起来会不会有些傻傻分不清呢？

�sparkle

If something sparkles, it is clear and bright and shines with a lot of very small points of light.

glitter

小编点津：glitter和sparkle在作动词表示闪烁时几乎没有差别，但是glitter较常作名词用其比喻意义，表示the exciting attractive quality of a place or a way of life which is connected with rich or famous people，与富人或名人有关的奢华亮丽的场所或生活方式。

阳光下河面波光粼粼。（在这个情况下与sparkle是一样的）

The glamour and glitter of London was not for him.

伦敦这个流光溢彩的繁华世界不适合他。

gleam

to shine by reflecting the light – used especially about smooth clean surfaces, or about someone’s eyes or teeth

The red tip of his cigarette was glowing in the dark.

总结：sparkle和glitter是同义词，泛指反光；gleam常指光洁的表面、眼睛或牙齿反光；glint常指锃亮的金属发光；glisten常指因有水或有油而发光；最后，glow常指发热的东西发出温暖、柔和、稳定的光。
